Ottawa Supreme Court Rally, Nov. 30

The ralliers arrived in two busloads, not only from Chippewa and Baffin Island Inuit territory, but from areas around Ontario and Quebec as well.

The ralliers retrieve their signs from their buses, shrouded by the canopy of trees in the Court.

At 8 a.m., the hundreds of rally participants began their march around one block of Wellington Street.

Escorted by half a dozen police officers, the rally members peacefully walked in front of the light traffic, chanting and beating drums.

The rally members stretched up half a block, their loud and passionate chanting filling the gentle air of the quiet Wednesday morning.
Ralliers march down Wellington Street to the Supreme Court of Canada.

People march to the Supreme Court on a chilly Wednesday morning, to show support for indigenous communities facing pipeline expansions on their land.
After circling the Wellington block, the crowd returned to the Supreme Court, where they settled down for the rally to begin.
